Why is privacy always associated with porn? Ok, sometimes it is, but there are a lot of other reasons why you don’t want someone snooping on your PC. Even if people are surfing for porn with the new IE 8, do we really think they weren’t doing it before?
However, it’s truly lame to have to make up excuses why privacy is important. It really is no one’s business what you do on your computer. I stress the word your here because a work PC is somewhat different.
Further software like this already exists in at least three places that I know of. Each one of the products below protects people’s privacy and goes beyond what IE 8 will offer.

I agree with William, it is just no ones business what we do on own personal computers. And privacy protection does not necessarily mean that we are porn freaks.
